Infection free toe nails – with laser

Nail infections are not a life threatening condition, nor are they something we like to talk about or show to the world however they are very common and often ignored.  With nail infections the longer you ignore it, the longer it can take to treat it!  The good news is – we offer a nail treatment that is pill and ointment free, and only needs to be treated every 2 – 4 weeks until it is resolved.

Laser treatment:   We offer laser treatment which through heat, treats the infection underneath the nail without damaging the tissue or skin under the nail, or the nail itself.

How does it work? The Laser heat penetrates inside the nail where the nail fungus reside, killing the fungus instantly.  The laser light passes right through the tough nail plate with minimal pain and no damage to the surrounding tissues.

Will it hurt?  Most patients will feel some heat generated by the laser but no pain medication is required after the procedure and you can resume your normal activities immediately after your treatment.

As the new nail grows, it shows signs of clearing from the bottom of the nail.  This usually takes 4-12 months depending on how fast your nails grow.  In order to increase effectiveness, a minimum of six treatments is recommended.

The following images are of patient Z, who has had 5 treatments, to treat 10 infected toenails. This patient is very happy with the normal appearance and texture of her nails and will be wearing jandals this summer.

At bloom we recommend for the most effectiveness, homecare and changed hygiene practices. We recommend B skin oil and supplements to improve nail and the surrounding skin health.
