What are the signs of ageing skin?
Wrinkles and lines that appear on the face are a sign of ageing. They are most commonly found around the eyes, mouth and forehead.
In addition to fine lines, ageing skin can also appear dull and lifeless and more pigmented due to sun damage and age spots.
What causes signs of ageing?
Collagen is the structural frame for your dermis or the second layer of your skin. It provides padding or cushioning for your skin’s movements. But as we age our collagen production slows – and existing collagen can get damaged due to sun exposure, lifestyle, diet, poor skincare routine and products. The result of reducing collagen is the appearance of ageing skin. Signs of ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles are a common concern for many and often start to become apparent from the age of 25 onwards.
