Tattoo Removal
Tattoos no longer need to be a lifetime commitment. People choose to remove tattoos for lots of different reasons – removing from a visible part of the body, making way for more tattoos or simply because their tastes have changed. Tattoo removal can be done safely and non-invasively with the help of laser technology.
Alma’s award winning ClearLift application successfully removes multi-colour tattoos, with its high powered laser energy.
The high power Q-Switched Nd:YAG 1064 nm is ideal for treating darker ink colours (black, blue and green), while the 532 nm wavelength is effective for brighter ink colours (red, orange and yellow). The mechanical Q-Switched works by vibrating and breaking down the ink particles in the tattoo. As the area heals, the body’s immune system flushes away the shattered ink particles, causing the tattoo to fade with minimal risk of scarring or hypopigmentation.

What to expect during the treatment
Most patients describe this treatment as uncomfortable.
You will be asked to purchase and apply numbing cream one hour prior to your treatment. You can buy this in the clinic at your initial consultation. We also apply ice packs during the procedure to reduce discomfort.
Post-treatment
You may experience nothing or you may have light inflammation, scabbing or blistering. We will recommend you purchase (from our Bloom store) our silicone based soothing gel to apply on the treated tattoo for 2-5 days post treatment. If the tattoo is in a position which may be irritated (ie: rubbed by clothing), your therapist may cover with a wound care dressing.
We recommend in the first 24 hours, don’t do an vigorous exercise, swim in a pool, go into a spa or sauna. We recommend you apply sunblock over the treated area for up to two weeks after the treatment. Please ensure you drink plenty of water. Don’t pick at the tattoo and avoid fake tans as it heals.
